The Black Bowmore is a legendary offering of aged single-malt from the Bowmore Distillery, which was founded in 1779 on the Isle of Islay.

The bottles on offer were all distilled in 1964 and aged in oak casks that once aged maturing sweet Oloroso sherry. The first edition was released with 29 years of age in 1993 for £100; subsequent editions were released in 1994 and 1995.

The third edition was supposed to be the final one. But in 2007, maturing casks of the then 42-year-old single-malt were bottled and then in 2016, 159 bottles were made from the final cask, the fifth edition.
